ISO 27001 implementation in an industrial group in Chile: case study

Cyberhub led the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard for a holding company operating in Chile and Peru. The objective was to strengthen data protection processes and establish a sustainable, organization-wide security culture.

Initial challenge

The organization was experiencing rapid growth and needed to standardize its information security controls to meet audit and regulatory requirements. Multiple business units showed varying levels of security maturity, with fragmented documentation and inconsistent practices.

Approach and methodology

• Initial maturity assessment through an ISO 27001 Gap Assessment.
• Risk identification and treatment aligned with ISO 27005.
• Design and implementation of organizational and technical security controls.
• Training more than 200 employees on information security best practices.
• Internal audit simulations to validate readiness prior to certification.

Results achieved

In less than 9 months, the holding company achieved corporate-level ISO 27001 certification, strengthening trust with international clients and improving operational efficiency. Security incidents were reduced by 45%, and a permanent information security committee was established.

Key lessons learned
